Model: SWNSDB001(SAN Backup application) SWNSDB001 is a performance enhancement typically only found in enterprise level solutions and provides the user with the ability to allocate the amount of memory shared between the CPU and SWNSDB001 according to available memory and native speed of the backup tape device. Also included is the ability to adjust data transfer block sizes to be used in conjunction with the memory allocation. This allows the user to tune and control data transfer to meet their requirement. Network Compression - Transfer speeds can more than double across the network when using this feature, simply reducing backup time. SWNSDB001 does the compression of data at the client before it is sent across the network thereby reducing the time it takes to transfer the data. Disk Staging - Backups can easily be sent directly to a hard drive or disk for improved performance. Disk Staging minimizes the impact on the network and acts as a buffer allowing media drives to operate at maximum speeds and provides the ability for automatic data replication during off-peak hours. It can also be used for off-site backups at remote storage sites. Consolidated Backups - SWNSDB001's latest feature to be included with all SWNSDB001 packages is consolidated backup. Because of shrinking backup windows and larger storage demands, SWNSDB001 will now support the consolidation of multiple (user defined) incremental backups with the last full backup to create a new full, thus saving time and resources when it really counts. Disaster Recovery Data Copy - Newly enhanced Data Copy features allow even more flexibility with offline copies of previously saved backups and save sets. Cleaning Cartridge - Enhancements and improvements for cleaning cartridge support to ensure that backups or restores are not interrupted by problems associated with dirty media or media heads. Disk Device Auto Generator - Automatically creates all of the files and NV configurations from a menu screen for the set up of SWNSDB001's Disk Staging feature. Advanced Scalability - Modularity without Complexity - To provide the ultimate in scalability, all of SWNSDB001 package options can be integrated together to provide a full featured, robust, scalable solution designed to grow with business growth.
