The 1000BASE-T were developed in the 802.3ab supplement to the IEEE standard, which was formally adopted in July 1999. Supporting 1 billion bits per second over unshielded twisted-pair (UTP) cable is a remarkable achievement.  MB-3792G's on board 1000BASE-T Ethernet port is fully compatible with your existing 10/100 network, providing scalable migration path from Ethernet and Fast Ethernet to Gigabit Ethernet performance.
