IT Systems Administrator Job Description & Requirements
We are seeking a qualified IT systems administrator. The primary responsibilities will include server administration, firewall management, desktop user support, management of virus definitions and system patches, design and implementation of an enterprise-wide backup and storage solution, network traffic monitoring, system auditing, basic SQL database administration, and VOoIP phone management. The candidate must have extensive real-world experience, be eager to learn new skills, and MUST stay abreast of emerging technologies. The candidate must also have experience with Windows Active Directory environments.
Core Responsibilities
- Network administration and troubleshooting
- Firewall management and configuration
- Server administration including IIS configuration
- Software and OS installations
- Design and implementation of enterprise-wide back-up and storage solution
- Server performance monitoring and capacity planning
- Network security monitoring and auditing
- Design and implementation of an IT disaster recovery plan
- Basic SQL database administration
- Management of daily backups and data recovery
- Windows Active Directory administration
- Configuration and management of the VoIP phone system
- Management of Microsoft Exchange mail server
- Additional duties as required
Requirements
- Technical Diploma in Management Information Systems, or equivalent work experience
- Strong technical knowledge of server, storage, operating systems and network infrastructures
- Experienced SAN administrator a MUST
- Windows 200x server and Active Directory administration
- Windows 200x Exchange administration
- MS SQL administration a plus
- Experienced in industry standard data replication and data migration methodologies
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Shows initiative, creativity and ability to work independently and within a team environment
- Strong communication and time management skills
- Highly adept at problem solving using experience and solid analytical skills
- High sense of urgency and accountability
- Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
- Customer focused and proven ability to integrate with a team
