Introduction
Advantech’s AIMB-740-B/AIMB-741-B series industrial motherboard is designed based on the standard ATX form factor with additional industrial features such as long product life, high reliability and manageability. It is flexible in that it can be installed in a commercial PC chassis or in an industrial grade rack mounting chassis. It meets the requirements of a variety of applications where a commercial motherboard cannot fit.
The AIMB-740-B and AIMB-741-B utilize Intel 845GV and 845E,
respectively. They support socket 478 Pentium 4/Celeron D/Celeron processor (FSB 400/533MHz) up to 3.06 GHz. In addition to a high-speed processor, it supports up to 2GB DDR memory and has 2 DIMM sockets on board.
The AIMB-740-B comes with the 845GV integrated VGA controller providing superior display performance, while the AIMB-741-B provides an AGP 4X slot to support a VGA add-on card. Dual Intel 82551/82562 10/ 100Base-T Ethernet controller or single Intel 82541 10/100/1000Base-T Ethernet controller are available on the AIMB-740-B/741-B series. The high reliability and excellent performance provided by Intel Ethernet controller are crucial for various network applications. AIMB-740-B/741-B also offers an exclusive feature of USB2.0 which provides high data transfer rate up to 480 Mb/sec.
A backup of CMOS data is stored in the Flash memory, which protects BIOS setup data even after a battery failure. Also included is a 255-level watchdog timer, which resets the CPU or generates an interrupt if a program cannot be executed normally. This enables reliable operation in unattended environments. The remote management interface enables the AIMB-740-B/741-B to be managed through Ethernet when it is connected to the SNMP-1000 Remote HTTP/SNMP System Manager.
