The DataLink
DL-PC/104 interface card provides PC/104 computers, MMIs, and OEM equipment
with an inexpensive, high speed interface to Allen Bradley's DataHighway
Plus or Remote I/O (Adapter).
The DL-PC/104
interfaces to a PC/104 CPU's bus using the same "Z182" COM port emulator as
an internal modem. The DL buffers PC/104 bus data bytes in RAM memory,
converts it to synchronous serial data, and then transmits to the A-B
network at full speed.
The
DL-PC/104's built-in CPU, RAM, and operating firmware in socketted flash
Eprom frees-up computer memory and system resources for use by the
application. The DataLink's unique serial port approach enables PC/104 bus
computers to connect to A-B networks at high speeds using the same A-B DF1
serial drivers used with A-B PLC Channel 0, 1770-KF2 and 1785-KE etc.
The DL-PC/104
is designed for PC/104 applications running under operating systems
including DOS, Windows 3.1, Windows 95, Windows NT, OS/2, Unix, QNX.
In Adapter
mode the DL can be configured for 1 to 7 (virtual) racks. A computer can
read all the I/O image tables in RIO, write 128 to 896 bits. The card can
handle 16 block transfer reads and 16 block transfer writes per rack, for a
total of 112 reads and writes of up to 64 words each.
Applications include:
- MMI, SCADA
and OEM computer applications
- PLC
Programming and Monitoring
- Data
Transfer between PC and other DH+ nodes
- Off-line
(self) tests
- On-line
(DH+) diagnostics
