Access has created a new class of carrier equipment for Multi-service
Digital Access (MDA). The key to MDA is the placement of intelligent,
carrier-owned technology at both the carrier and end-customer
locations. Carrier Access products allow competitive carriers to
leverage their existing digital infrastructure to cost-effectively
connect end-users requiring between six and 672 telephone-line
equivalents of bandwidth. STS-1,T3, T1, DSL, and digital radio
transmission technologies are being used with Carrier Access products
to reach the broad base of business customers.
