Voice Over Frame Relay

For voice over Frame Relay applications, there are two choices. For smaller businesses running 56 kbps Frame Relay, the ADTRAN Express 5200™ series is the perfect solution. For larger businesses running above T1 Frame Relay rates, the ATLAS 800PLUS integrated access device can accommodate up to 6 Mbps of Frame Relay.

Small Business Application - Company A
As illustrated in the diagram, Company A selected the ADTRAN Express 5200 family. With the Express 5200 located at Site 1 and the Express 5210™ located at Site 2, the small business is able to deliver voice and data over one Frame Relay PVC. The Express 5200 provides a V.35 interface for connection into an existing router, while the Express 5210 has a built-in IP Router.

Larger Business Application - Company A
Company B selected the ATLAS 800PLUS for use at their corporate headquarters. ATLAS 800PLUS allows the company to consolidate their existing WAN services and three full T1s of Frame Relay using one cost-effective platform. For remote sites that do not have existing routers, the company selected the Express 5210. The Express 5200 family provides two voice ports for FXO, FXS, or E&M interfaces.
