AditTM
600, integrates traditional data and business-class voice services,
including POTS, DID, Centrex, Tie Line and CLASS, in a compact 2RU,
modular and cost-efficient platform suitable for wall or rack
mounting. An integrated 1/0 digital cross connect enables data and
voice traffic to be groomed across up to 16 T1/E1 interfaces (512
DS0s). In addition to business-voice and data service interfaces, Adit
600 also supports HDSL2, integral IP routing, Frame Relay (RFC 1490),
OCU/DP, and ISDN Basic Rate services.
A unique feature of Adit 600 is
the ability to support TDM, ATM, or ATM IMA network connections.
Selection of a network connection technology is simply a matter of
choosing the appropriate controller card. No changes to the chassis or
service cards are required.
An integral
AC/DC power supply and battery charger obsoletes external power
conversion devices. Up to eight hours of uninterrupted power
protection can be provided by the same Battery Backup Unit used with
today's Access Bank product family.
Installation of
Adit 600 is a snap right out of the box. The 10-pound maximum weight,
3.5"(h) x 8.5"(w) x 12"(d) enclosure, with integrated
wall brackets, easily mounted within minutes. Optional rack mount
brackets improve space utilization, enabling side-by-side mounting of
one or two Adit 600 units in 19 or 23 inch racks. If configured with
all analog voice interfaces, Adit 600 can support 96 voice channels
from 4 T1 network interfaces in only 2RU (3.5 inches) of rack space.
An
embedded SNMP agent, accessible via T1 from Carrier Access' Access
Navigator, single DS0 or built-in 10Base-T Ethernet port, facilitates
remote management, monitoring and provisioning of Adit 600. New or
additional services can be turned up and tested without requiring the
expense of a dispatch and truck roll. For example, when deployed with
the Access Navigator GR-303 host controller, the Adit 600 terminal
implements a distributed digital loop carrier system, enabling new
data and voice services that can be distributed economically over
wider metropolitan areas.
