PPAP200 is a communication appliance computing board
based on Intel's next generation chipset technology.
PPAP200 has three on-board LAN ports to serve as a
communication appliance, such as Firewall, which needs
three LAN ports to connect external network (internet),
demilitarized zone and internal network. Different I/O
management policies can be applied respectively to
|
individual network to achieve the highest security
level. One built-in PCI slot permits further expansion
for WAN connection, backup connection or even customized
function card. The target market segment is
communication appliance, including Virtual Private
Network, Load Balancing, Quality Of Service, Intrusion
detection, Virus detection, Firewall and Voice Over IP.

-
Scalable
computing power from Intel® Celeron™
to Pentium® lII processor in the FC-PGA
socket to provide a wide range of price/performance
selections
-
Adopt
Intel's new generation 815E chipset, which offers
the highest performance, reliability and stability
for the communication appliance:
- Support 66/100/133 MHz FSB speed
- Support up to 512MB of PC100/133 SDRAM
- ATA-100 IDE for storage device
- USB
-
Three
on-board 10/100 Ethernet ports for advanced
communication appliances, such as Firewalls (one
external network, demilitarized zone with internal
network is a typical configuration for firewall
application)
-
Tailor-made
BIOS allows users to operate it as a network device
instead of a computer system. BIOS can be operated
via serial port
-
Two
serial (EIA-232) ports for local maintenance and
interface to those peripherals such as LCD/keypad
module
-
DOM
supported for embedded application
-
DC
input jack is used to connect external AC/DC
adapter. An on-board power connector provides
necessary power source to system HDDs and fans
-
PCI
golden finger edge connector allows further system
expansion
-
Eight
application definable LEDs
-
Right-angle
PCI connector permits standard PCI cards to be added
while maintaining small form factor
(8.5"x5.12")
