The main components of a switch operation support system are
a Switch Interface Controller, External Alarm Controller, Data
Base System, Maintenance & Diagnostic Software, and Relay Diagnostic
Equipment/Software. An RS-232 Interface Connection Switch along
with local terminal sensors connected to a Switch Interface Controller
and External Alarm Controller is capable of receiving and transmitting
operational status and environmental data. Abnormal condition
reports and operating status data can then be processed and transmitted
via network connections to a diagnostic center.
The front-end computers in this setup use Windows NT and MOXA
C320 to process, transmit, and receive data. In addition, operators
can access the system from anywhere via dial-up lines to perform
maintenance work.
