AcceleRAID 170 is
an entry-level, single channel PCI to Ultra 160 SCSI controller. Bringing the
performance and fault tolerance of RAID to workstations and entry-level servers,
AcceleRAID 170 is ideal for e-business applications.
Easy to configure and manage
Managing RAID is simple with RAID EzAssistand Global Array Manager (GAM) from
Mylex. RAID EzAssist, a BIOS-resident software and utilities package, enables
you to configure your RAID system through automated menus, or take advantage of
customizable menus. GAMs RAID management utilities let you remotely monitor and
manage RAID subsystems online, using industry standard protocols.
No matter where
you are, Global Array Manager alerts you of any problems via e-mail, pager, fax
or through the launch of an application.
Data Availability
AcceleRAID 170 supports RAID levels
0, 1, 0+1, 3, 5, 10, 30, 50 and JBOD. Other features such as hot spare and
automatic rebuild allow the server to keep the storage subsystem online when a
drive fails. Ensure maximum data protection with ECC cache, supporting 32MB or
64MB DIMM memory.
AcceleRAID 170
RAID controllers offer many fault tolerance features, as well as functions to
ease setup and storage management. Immediate RAID Availability (background
initialization) enables other setup tasks to be performed while the drives are
being initialized.
Scaling With Your Business
Mylex Online RAID ExpansionTM allows you to add drives to existing arrays and
re-stripe data across the drives. With AcceleRAID 170, you can build your array
to 15 drives for a storage capacity of 1.08TB per controller.
A Star Performer
Intels i960RM CPU, up to 64MB ECC cache, PCI Hot Plug support, and high
performance drivers increase system throughput. These features help make the
AcceleRAID 170 one of the most powerful, yet affordable entry-level RAID
controllers available while providing the superior performance, data protection
and fault tolerance youve come to expect from Mylex.
