XP Power announced today the GFR1K5 1500 Watt AC/DC power supply series aimed at a broad range of industrial and communications applications that require bulk power within a compact 1U enclosure. Available in four single output models covering the nominal output voltages of +12, +24, + 48 or +56 VDC, the units can be mounted within a standard 1U height equipment rack. An optional rack mount enclosure is also available that allows up to 4 GFR1K5 units to be mounted side by side providing up to 6kW output. All units can be hot swapped and used in redundant configurations.
All voltage models have the same form factor and interconnection for applications that require more than one voltage rail, with the units being electrically polarised to prevent inserting in the wrong backplane position.
The mechanical design of the GFR1K5 includes a number of innovative design features, such as using only two internal PCBs, that aids the optimal flow of air through the unit, helping to maintain a low internal operating temperature ensuring long-term component reliability. The use of a dual stage power factor correction (PFC) circuit and synchronous rectification techniques contribute to the units 90%+ power efficiency.

The Niagara 4224 is a 24 port 10 Gigabit Hardware based Traffic Distribution and Load Balancing system. The Traffic Distribution and Load Balancing has flexible and extensive configuration options. The system can support L2-L4 packets, IP traffic, MPLS packets and it provides the ability to customize key for distribution. The 24 ports support 1 gigabit or 10 Gigabit Ethernet with SFP and SFP+ support including multi mode, single mode and extended mode fiber.
Due to its versatility and flexibility the system can support mirroring to multiple ports aggregation of multiple ports to a single port and an extensive filtering engine. There are several load balancing methodologies supported which enable traffic to be distributed according to any configured output of ports and the distributing key can be defined as follow:
- VLAN ID -- packets belonging to the same VLAN will be redirected to the same port.
- IP-Src -- packets belonging to the same IP source will be redirected to the same port.
- IP-Dst -- packets belonging to the same IP destination will be redirected to the same port.
- MAC-Src -- packets belonging to the same MAC source will be redirected to the same port.
- MAC-Dst -- packets belonging to the same MAC destination will be redirected to the same port.
- TCP-Port -- packets with the same TCP port will be redirected to the same port.
- UDP-Port -- packets with the same UDP port will be redirected to the same port.
- User Defined Byte (UDB) - where the key for distribution is configurable and all the packets with the same key will be redirected to the same port. The number of ports is configurable.
